چکیده

This article addresses the relevant problem of stress–strain behavior compressed reinforced concrete columns under lateral pulse loading. A simplified engineering method analyzing limit value loading P, depending on longitudinal force N acting column, is developed. The proposed involves construction P-N curve that has three portions. Portion 1 describes plastic deformation and rebars part structure mostly in bending. 2 state column can trigger brittle failure along normal section, 3 high compression predominantly triggers its shear failure. For Portions 2, analytical relationships are obtained using equilibrium equations. Corrosive damage taken into account model as a reduction strength deformability characteristics material. conventional local corrosion spot be considered; it located both outside area action results were compared with numerical studies full-scale experiment. As result testing developed technique, was found provides safety margin for corrosion-damaged elements 0.20–0.8 ultimate horizontal impulse at operational values compressive force. considered paper leads to 10–60% columns, their location.

Strengthening of Corrosion-Damaged Reinforced Concrete Beams with Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer Laminates

Problem statement: This study showed the results of an experimental investigation on the strengthening of corrosion damaged reinforced concrete beams with unidirectional cloth glass fiber reinforced polymer (UDCGFRP) laminates. Approach: All the beam specimens 150×250×3000 mm were cast and tested for the present investigation. One beam specimen was neither corroded nor strengthened to serve as ...

Reliability of Reinforced Concrete Girders under Corrosion Attack

Corrosion of reinforcement is a major problem affecting a large number of reinforced concrete structures. At present, most reliability-based design studies of reinforced concrete structures do not consider the effects of corrosion. In this paper, we present a reliability-based approach to the design of reinforced concrete bridge girders that are under corrosion attack. Both reserve and residual...

Study of stiffness and bearing capacity degradation of reinforced concrete beams under constant-amplitude fatigue

For a reinforced concrete beam subjected to fatigue loads, the structural stiffness and bearing capacity will gradually undergo irreversible degeneration, leading to damage. Moreover, there is an inherent relationship between the stiffness and bearing capacity degradation and fatigue damage. In this study, a series of fatigue tests are performed to examine the degradation law of the stiffness a...

Behaviour of Reinforced Fibrous Concrete Beams under Reversed Cyclic Loading

When earthquakes occur, energy released by the earthquake gets induced into the structure as ground motion and this energy has to be dissipated for safety reasons. To release seismic energy, the structure should damage in such a way that on one hand, collapse of structure should not occur and on the other hand, after the earthquake, damage should be economically feasible to repair. To avoid the...
